Championship was between Carlton, who had gono through tho tournament with an unbeaten record, and who defeated Gisborno 'tho' previous evening,; and the 'Hastings'representatives, and play was commenced at nine o'clock on links .3 and 4 on'the Auckland green, which again played finely. Carlton Club w'as represented by Ronayno, Holmes, 'Wrathall, and Wilson (s.), and Hastings by Gillespie, Murley, Mnddison, and Land (s.). On link 3 tho play was very even up to the eleventh head, while tho decision could be said'to be closo till the last head was played. Carlton led off with a, couple of singles, then a four and two, making tho'total 8 against four singles by. the visitors. ,Tho latter from then rallied finely, arid tho team, by brilliant play,' scored, a brace, a couplo of singles, then a, threo, and ;a single, to .Carlton's 1 one, making .both lovol nt tho eleventh head. At a meeting of bowlers held last evening for tho purpose of making suggestions regarding futuro tournaments, tTio .chairman announced that invitations had been received to hold the next tournament at Napier and Nelson. It was decided to recommend the criuncil of tho Association to accept tho offer to' play at Napier, tliero being more rinks--available tliero than at Nelson, On. the motion of- Mr. Ballinger, of Wellington, it was also decided" to- recommend that at'tho noxt tournament pairs and singles bo played simultaneously in sections. .
