A CONUNDRUM IN TRAM FARES.

'Sir,—Last Saturday I travelled from Willis Street, to Island Bay, taking a return ticket, for which I paid sixpence. On arrival at Island Bay,l started to walk round the Drive to Constable Street, joining a Newtown car at tho bottom of - Constable Street. On presenting my return half of the Island' Bay ticket I was told I had to pay another penny, making in all sevenpence, whereas if I had taken two single tickets I- should havn only had to pay sixpence. Now, sir, I havo questioned several conductors on this apparent anomaly in fares. Some are in favour or passing tho ticket, and others aro not,, and I would therefore bo glad of tho opinion of yourself or your many.readers as to whether it'is available. If it is not-,, why not?—l am, etc., PUZZLED. ■; January 6.
