A sale of stock was'held by Messrs.' Hudson and Easther, Shannon, at Mr., W.- Galloway's last .Tuesday.' Cows, were sold' up to .£7 155.; a herd of. 28 averaged i/t 10s. Sow's with litters fetched up to ,£3 7e.' Cd.; stores, 13s. 6d. Heifers went at £2 3s.;.weaners,'at 13s.' One trap gelding, was bought for ifi26.. Everything was'r.old.< ■ '

Sheep were in good demand. 'Prime fat', lambs sold rat- lata ■ rates; beef was somowhat easier, .and ; pigs. : wero rather dull .of sale., Tlicro. was_ a fairly ..large entry of stbre sheep, the bulk; being lambs, and, as buyors from'the South were operating;. there'■. was' a "good. sale'. The entry; of fat. lambs was a fairly largo'. orie,- ! -but the quality was uneven, ' tho. majority being woll finished. • There ,was fair competition for export, and prime, lambs sold,up to late-rates, But other descriptions were easier. Tog's sold at 16s. Gd. to' ISs.; prime'.freezers, Ms.' fid. to 10s.; 'lighter,' 12s.' 6tf. to 145.; arid lis. to 12s. The entry of. fat sheep was ah averago one; . Tho supply of beef totalled. 283 head, of which there was only , a small proportion prime quality,' cows forming the greater part of the entry. ■ The sale was dragging, and priccs showed further reduction. Steers brought £6 ss. to .£10; heifers,' w£s 10s. to £!■ 15s. j and cows, ,£1 ss. to i 8 55.,. equal to 225. 6d. to-. 31s. for prime,- and 18s. to 225. for cows and medium steers per 1001b. A full yarding of veal calves sold at 3s. 6d. to; 40s. Thero was a medium entry of pigs, and fats wore easier, whilo stores sold at late rates. Baconers made'42s. to 60s. (equal to 4]d. to sd. per lb.), and porkers, 28s. to lAs. (equal to sd. to s{d. per lb.).
Dunedin, January 8. At tho Burnsido stock sales 2133 sh.cop were penned, of good quality,. Prices, on, account of tho. largo yarding, showed a decline of fully 2s. per head on Inst week's rates. The quotations aro as follow:—Best wethers, ,18s.; Od. to 20s. ; extra, to 225.; medium, 17a. to l"s. Gd.; inferior, 13s. Gd. to 14s. 3d.; best ewes, 17.V 0(1. to 18s.; extra, to 19s. Gd.; medium, 13s.'6d. to 155.; inferior, 9s. 6(1. to,, lis. Lambs: iflO penned. Prices showed a slight ndvanco. Bost,: 15s. to 17b.; extra, to li?s.; medium, ISs. 6d.' to lfs. (id.; inferior, lis. to 12s. Pigs: 120 varded.' Prices were on a par with those of last week. Suckers, 16s. to 205.; slips, 225. to 245.; stores, 275. to 315.; porkers, 40s. to 495.; light bafconers, 535. to 575.; heavy baconers,63b. to 745. C'attlc: 200 yarded. .
