He speaks of its wonderful resources,., its salubrious climate, and tho oriergy and industry of its people, and quotes' with approval Dr. von Hochstetter's-description of Now Zealand as "a country which appears destined before all othors to becomo . tho mothor of civilised nations." . - Mr. C. H. Renant, representing tho Gear Moat Preserving and Freezing ■ Company, Limited, of New Zealand, has recently removed to 88 Fenchurch Street, E.C. Mr. Arnold Trowcll made a very successful re-appearance on Saturday night- at the Bechstein Hall. His attractive style and admirable technique were well displayed in Bocclicrini's Sonata in A, and several of his own compositions. It is tho opinion of some of the leading musical critics that- Mr. Trowcll will bo one of tho finest .'cellists of the day. Mr. Trowcll will assist Hiss Ethel Hooli, a sister of Madame Clara Butt, when she makes her debut as a solo vocalist, on December 14, at the Beehstein Hall.
