Shooting men are reminded that entries [ot the virions events in the Government Prize firing at Trcntham, on January 22,- close at the Central Drillshed on January 15, at 9 p.m. .With reference to the complaints which have been heard recently concerning the "defective Ammunition marked " G.1i.," the Defence Department stated yesterday, in reply to a fiuestion by a Dominion reporter, that the matter was at present under consideration by the Government, and inquiries .will be made as to tho nature ..and extent of the defects complained of. Reference was made in our report of Saturday's rifle-shooting, published in oui issue of yesterday, wherein it was stated that in somo instances the cartridge cases were found to have split down tho sides.
