NORTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. ( ..(by teleoraph—rnEsa AsaociATiON.) , Auckland, January 6. Tho North Island Bowling Association tournament opened this morning under most favourable auspices. Upwards of 33 clubs oach sent two teams to do battle for tho banner-and other prizes. The official reception of visiting bowlers took place oh tho Grafton ' greon. Mr.' Mennie, president of tho association, presided in placo of tho Mayor, who had mot with a slight accidont playing tennis. Mrs. Myers, wife of tho Mayor, then formally declared tho tournaraont opon, and tho bowlers disporsed to tho: fivo greens on which tho matches proceeded. . The following are the results:— B SECTION.
