' His predecessor, [ Uyono, has been transferred to Sydney, with i' the title of Consul-General, although this is ; not rotjarded as. a promotion.. " Koike will leavo New York on December 3 • for his new post, and, prior to departure, ; will bo given a banquet, at which tho formal announcement of the change-will be made. He was in Washington to-day, and called on tho Secretaries of State and tho Navy.
