Briand, hitherto .Ministor for. Public'' Instruction, has been appointed Minister for Jnstico. 11. Douniorgtio, hitherto Ministor for Commcrco and Industry, has boon appointed Minister for Public Instruction, M. Cruppi bccomes Minister for Jnstico; There was a vacancy in the French Cabinet through the recent sudden death, from heart disease, of M. Guyot-Dessaigne, Minister for Jnstico, and doputy for Clermont-Ferrand. M. Jean Cruppi, Republican Radical, doputy for Garonne, was born in 1855, and became a deputy in 18D8. In 1906 ho was elected VicePresident of tho Chamber. Tho change in tho portfolio of M/ Briand, who has had the handling of the' Church question, may have some significance. .
