Two small children in Now Jersey, Mildred and William Carter lost •thoir parents in a wrcck, and a jury' sitting 'in. Canidcn has just awarded tho,orphans £46i10 damages, £1000 for tho loss of their mother, arid £3000 for tho loss of their •father. There was no insinuation that Mrs. ; Cartor was not a good mother, hut being a woman, it was assumed that her value to her children was loss than one-third that of the father! .
