For an hour before tho visit a crowd/ that taxed the powers of a dozen policemen had blockaded the street in front'of th© big 'stono building, and when tho I'automobilo ; bearing the guests appeared there was an im-■■■= raodiate rush that swept the police out of the way. Finally the police managed to make a way through the press, and, cscortad by tho male members of the party and half a dozen officers, the Duchess and Mrs. Mackay at last succeeded in their. qiiest.
