SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF TEMPERANCE

The National, Division of New Zealand,of the Sons and' Daughters of Temperance, held its annual '■ session at St. Peter's Mission Hall.- Tarauaki Street, ,yesterdnv. Bro. .): P. Chatterton, MiW.P., in tho chair. Tho reports of the M.W.P. and M.W.S: wero rerid aud adopted. They showed an increase ih the membership of the Order for the'past year, and also the funds. The total, worth, of funds at present is ,£GI34 -ts. 6d„ bcinß an increase of ,£49li'l3s. '4d. The sick benefits paid during the past year amounted to lis. 4d., and funeral clafms £.'5. In'faco of the fact that influenza has prevailed over the Dominion for the past year, this was considered very satisfactory. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—M.W. W. M'Callum: M.W. Sentinel, Bro. W. It. Mayes;'M.W. Trustees, Bros. T. Cutler, W. F. Cooper, and W. TT. Seed;' M.W. Auditors, Bros. V. Bedwell and J. A. ElTord. Matters connected with the- welfare of the Division were considered-during tho afternoon/ and- after a very'long discussion it was resolved., to .abolish ail levies for 'funeral claims. The-next annual meeting . will bo held at. Bougiora, Canterbury.
