. $_ . HOLIDAY PROGRAMME! There will be no lack of holiday resorts and entertainments on Noiv Year's Day.' The Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association will commence its annual tournament at Day's Bay. Very largo ontrics have been received, and some keen contests should be witnessed. The inter-provincial cricket match, Wellington v. Canterbury, will commence on tho Basin; Itcsorvo. . , i Tho annual regatta will bo held at Picton, to which beautiful harbour the turbine steamer Maori will run an excursion. There will bo Caledonian sports at Mastorton. The ferry steamers will run constant excursions to Day's Bay (where very special attractions aro provided),'Seatoun, and other harbour resorts. The Bellevue and Mason's Gardens should attract many visitors to tho Lower Huttand Taita. Special events at "Wonderland," "Tho Blue Moon" at tho Opera House, West's Pictures at tho Town Hall, and Fuller's Company nt tho Theatre Royal, offer a profusion of culminating gaictios.
