ELINGAMITE'S TREASURE.

A telegraphic message'' was received in Auckland from the North to-day by!, Captain M'Kcnzie, promoter of the expedition, intimating that the party which left Auckland on ;the Claymore a fortnight ago for the Three King 3 Islands to search for the remainddr of the specie ''from the WTeck of the Elingamito,' has: recovered a ■" good quantity" of the treasure. ' The weather has evidently, been favourable for tho carrying our of diving operations, and the efforts of the party in this direction 'appear to have been, very successful. The amount recovered onthe ; present expedition has as yet not been ascertained. The Claymore party considers that the rest of the treasure is .niw in sight. Tho Elingamit«, which was wrecked on the Throo Kings On November 9. 1802, had op board £17,300 of specie, of which about £2000 has boon recovered in the several attompts which have been made prior to the present one.
