While the picce itself does not reach .1 in: standard set by come'lits could bo -mentioned, there is an undeniable charm about tjib production, that ;s. attrili'iitablc )»• the gorgeously beautiful. settingj. .that suggests so . artistically tho lazy langii'ir pi. the East so realisticiilly that one can almost 1 dotect. the pungent, .perfumo of sandalwood, currie; and spices' that must impregnate such, scenes. Added to those principals, who .have already been noticed, there is a voice, that deserves to be singled out for special mention. It. is a particularly rich and 'musical contralto, possessed'by Miss Mnunsell' (who has a small solo-to sing shortly after the rise .of the curtain on . the secojid act).. The _ chorus,' particularly.' -in. the, .male ,'.division .. ,i.s strong, and ! the .' orchestra,, under ! 'Mr. Mo'ulton/''' do: much to. ' . ,■ . '" • ' ■ '. WEST'S. PICTURES. ■ . . ■ . West's Pictures, which include some of the finest films ever.seen in. tho Dominion, were shown at the Town. Hall twice on Saturday. Tliere was a largo. attendance., at the matinee, and, in. the evening, every, seat was occupied. This ovening a.new series pf/piptures will,be exhibited, and the Do Groen vice-regal orchestra Trill-ploy new pieces. THEATRE ROYAL. The Theatro Royal held a-crowded audience on Saturday night, and some new arrivals, on. the boards had a hearty reception. .Among tho numbers were Gertie M'Leod, serio and dancer, and the Verne Brothers, comedians and- dancers. The popnlar Stagpooles, burlesque, actors, kept the fun going inorrily during their turn; ,and tho Marlowe Sisters- had some comicalities that , seemed tij t.-jko. Vocal' item's by Mftdamo Corelli; a soprano with a high range, were above the average.. Jjesseo and Reso had some' intermixture. of: comedy and juggling which was away fioTn the beaten track. Change of biograph pictures was also provided. WONDERLAND. The popular Miramar attraction had ' its crowds again on Saturday, t Water chute, haunted castlo, toboggan slide, helter-skelter, etc., continue under'the most; liberal patronage. Wonderland vail be open again tliis ovening.
