" Wool 'has gone'down in price, ;but English manufacturers are still affected by the ' high prices that'ruled last season, and • tho cost of carpets has been advanced by sixpence a yard. Fortunately for our customers, instead of sending Homo small orders from time to time,-, wo had ordered 1 a whole year's stock, which wa secured before .the price was increased, and we can, therefore, sell them at the old price. We have now a very fine selection of carpet squares in several varieties. i Axminster carpet squares, in beautifully 1 blended colours and in self-coloured de-'' signs, we sell at tho following prices:—. ! 9ft. by 10ft. Gin., from' ...' £710 0 10ft. Gin. by 12ft., from ... £10 0. 0 . 10ft. 6iri. by 13ft. 6in., from £12 10 0 13ft. Gin. by 12ft., from . ... £12 1B 6 12ft. by 15ft., from ... ... £14 7 6 We have also very beautiful Axminster carpets, to be made into squares to suit purchasers, and the price, of course, there- ■ fore, vary. We havo • gorgeous' Mirzapore . carpets at 12ft. by 9ft., from £9 10 0. 14ft... by 10ft., from ... ... £9 15 0 For those who cannot afford'the real Mir- , zaporo square we . have an imitation made in ; Japan, in the samo bright glowing colours, and at a very much lower price. For, , instance, a . square 12ft. by 12ft. would cost from 675. 6d. And Kidderminster squares for bedrooms at prices beginning at, 9ft: by 9ft., 275. 6d. ' These are made in a variety of colours, cool-looking blues'and grej-6, in reds and ' , mingled colours. We havo very handsome Axminster stair' carpets at prices from 6s. to 12s. Cd. per. yard. , LINOLEUMS. Our stock of linoleums is as artistic nnd varied as our carpet stock. 1 The virtues of the inlaid tile pattern are well known. ; Theso do not show dust marks, and they wear evenly till the last, because each colour is stamped right through to the' back. They are more expensive than tho painted linoleums, but are much mora artistic, nnd .in their durability well worth the extra money. Other linoleums in which tho colour is stamped right through are the Oriental ones, and tho parquetry. The Oriental aro made in tno rich colours,' and tho designs Turkoy carpets, aud would do admirably for smoking-rooms or diningrooms. Theso wo can supply at ss. 6d. and 6s. 6d. a square yard. There are also linoloums in very handsome Art designs at 4s. 3d., ss. 6d., and 6s. 6d. per squan yard. Tlion wo have inlaid linoleums in a sort of softened effect,. not clearly cut like the familiar • trie designs. And a new line is tho plain matting effect in a cheaper linoleum, which wo stock in red, cream, and green. Tho latest idea in linoleums is the parquetry flooring. These are in imitation of oak parquetry flooring, really an admirable imitation. They are specially adapted for halls and dining-rooms, but in a drawingroom, with an Oriental carpet square in tho centre, they would look very effective, and would set off tho rich colours of the carpet. . , Yet another floor covering is . the 1 cork ' carpet,' which is most suitablo for bedrooms, as it is not cold to tho feot liko ordinary linoleum, and, as a matter of fact, it is made' of somo preparation of cork. Tho plain cork carpet, in shades of green and red, and dark blue, is very suitablo for offices, especially if thero were a carpot square in tho centre. Wo havo this plain ,at 3s. 3d., 4s. 3d., and ss. 3d. per yard, and in art designs at 4s. per yard. CURTAILS. If you want curtains, you probably want casement curtains, as those aro moro used ' now than anything olse, quaint nnd protty littlo curtains hanging from top to bottom of tho window pano. We have a very good range of casomcnt cloths. We have" plain silky cloth, n doublo width material of 52in. width, at ss. 3d; a j-ard. Stencilled . cream cloth, of tho samo width, from 2s. 9d. to ss. 9d. a yard. Holland easement, in grass greon, art 'blue, and .self colour, at 4s. a yard. Then wo . lmvo Madras curtains, plain, tassolled, and frilled, from Is. Cd. to 4s. 6d. per yard. Tf!E SCOULLAR COMPANY LTD., Warehouse: 197, 199, Lnmbton Quay.
