THE FASTING CURE

'■Dr. Bakewell, of Auckland,: who visited Wanganui for the express purpose of enquiring into the local f.asting cases (w'hich liavo oeen subject of ' widespread publicity throughout the Dominion) left for his home to-day. The doctor interviewed all the persons who had fasted, and made a careful examination of each caso.- He found all tho persons interested perfectly frank, and, while • not courting notoriety, quito .willing to give, him all possible information. ■ As a result of his enquiries, Di\. Bakewell authorises the "Chroniclo" to say that ho is porfoctly satisfied as to the bona fides of every caso which came under his notice! Ho no longer doubts, tho genuineness of the fasts, and considers that what ho has seen and heard is sufficient to warrant him in making a thorough scientific study of tho whole quostion. Ho proposes to devoto considerable time to this work, and upon its completion ho will embody the result of his investigations, together with tlici conclusion's at which ho'arrives, , in a scries of articles for tho Press. ■ ■
