Kayo' and E. W. Seager, of Christchurch, were in Wellington yesterday, on their way' to Sydney by tho Marama. The Right, Rev. Mr. Micholson, who is recovering from a severo illness, will remain in New Zealand for some months. Mr. R. Lcchncr, who has been for thirtythroo years in the Ashburton Post Office, and who has filled tho position of chief clerk for a long poriod, has been promoted, to tako charge of tho Gcraldino Post and Telegraph OlEce, and will take up his now duties at tho commencement of tho New Year. Mr. Joshua Jackson, J.P., who for a considorablo numbor of years past had carried on business in Auckland as a sharobrokor, died at his residence, Northcoto, last Saturday afternoon. The deceased gentleman was in his 67th year. Prior-to ontering into business on his own account, Mr. Jack&on was on tho staff of the "New Zealand Herald." He is survived by a widow and a grown-up family. Mr. G. A. King, Rogistrar of tho Supromo Court and Sheriff at Dunodin, who has been transferred to Christchurch to tako up a similar position thcro, will leave Dunedin early in the New Year. Mr. King, who is a solicitor of the Supremo Court at New Zoaland, has boon in Dutiediu for twenty years, during which time ho has acted as DoputyRogistrar, and subsequently as Rogistrar, which position ho has occupiod for tho last six year"
