'far all farmers interviewed arc known to either or both of us, and wo know what promises are worth, but when wo get into strange country some other method , will have to be adopted. And wo would suggest having addressed envelopes loft with every farmer who promises support. Wo have found a good many fanners who were members of tho Union but had not been asked for their subscriptions for a year, or may bo two. From these we havo simply collected or arranged to collect the current year's subscription. It may incidentally be mentioned that forty subscriptions per week will pay the secretarial and organising expenses, and thirty per week will pay tho dilferenco between the £50 salary and'tho £»JO." ■ .
