On January 8 ho returns to Auckland in order to entertain.a o'onfprenco at luncheon at tho ]'acific Club. Tlio Hon. ■ Jajncs M'Gowau, Minister for Mines, and Acting-Minister for Public Works, who travelled from Wellington over the Main Trunk Lino, arrived in Auckland on Saturday ovening. Ho left for The Thames this afternoon, and, after spending tho holiday' season in tho goldfiolds district, will return to Auckland. * Tho Hon. J. A. Millar, Minister for Labour and Marino,: recoivod a number of callers and transacted a considerable vohinio of public businoss to-day.
