Findlay, counsel for claimant, inquired when tho Court intended to hear , tho motion for a now trial of tho case RichaTd Elliott v.. the • City Corporation. It will he ronicmbcred that Elliott claimed £500 as compensation for injuries received in tho Brooklyn Tram ' accident in ' May last, and that a special jury of. four awarded him £260, tho amount of tho original claim. The ground on which tho motion for tho now trial is, based is that the amount awarded was excessive. His Honour stated that he would hear tho application during tho vacation.
