INSPECTION OF FRUIT.
Mr. T. W. Kirk, Biologist-of thei -Agricultural Department,, lias been authorised by . Cabinet- to at once bring into' oporation the ,penal clauses of tho Orchard and . Gardon I'ests Act. Inspectors have .been instructed to make strict inspections pf all orchards, fruit 'shops, - and - fruit- auction rooms. The Department desires -all shopkeepers and auctioneers to know .that they aro liable, under the. Act, if fruit showing either fungus disease or insect pests is found in their possession. ' ' ' ,
