Tho present position at Doimiston is that tho managoment has called upon tho Union to obsorvo tho provisions of tho Court's award. ' The offers of compromise (that liavo been refused) are now withdrawn. A simple arrangement regarding, -working hours has been mutually arranged at tho Westport Coal Company's Bccond collicry at Grauity. Tho men employed 011 tho front shift commence work at 8 a.m., and cease at 3 p.m. The back shift men start at' 4,p.m., and discontinue at 11 p.m. Twenty minutes, in each shift are allowed as "crib" timo. Thus tho actual hours of work aro six hours forty minutes. Tho timo occupied in walking from tho mino entrance to working places varies considerably.
