Tondors will shortly bo called for the, installation of wireless telography. , Tho first section will be from Capo York, tho northernmost point of Queensland, to Port Moresby, in British Notv Guinea. Coast). 300. 300.. . 9.—Geraldton.W.A.,3oo Tho report Of the conference points out that the purpose ie improved efficiency of dofenco, and greater security of lifo and property afloat,' rathor than immediate financial results., The report suggests tlmt Sydney, Cape York, and Port Moresby-should be.proceeded with first, and the others at intervals of two years, as funds are made available.. With the adoption of,the whole scheme, from 300 miles north of Morfcton Bay to 300 miics west of Cape Borda (Kangaroo Island, South Australia), any slhips with wireless apparatus would be continuously within, range of a station. Tho conference' sees no immediate necessity for establishing communication with. New Zealand, since it■ would bo of übo only in the remote contingency of the tliroo existing cables being out. .
