THE COST OF GARPETS. • , + ■■■■ Wool has gone down, in price, but English manufacturers ...ire still affected by the high prices that ruled ' Inst season, and tho cost, of carpets has been advanced'by sixpence a yard. Fortunatoly for our customers, instead of sending Home. small orders from time to time, wo had ordered a wholo year's stock, which we-secured before, the price was increased, and wo can,, therefore, sell them at tho old price. Wβ have now a very fino selection of carpet squares in several varieties. . ■ Axminster carpet squares, in. beautifully, blended colours and ,in self-coloured de- • signs, we sell at the . following prices:— ... ' : 9ft. by. 10ft. Gin., from ... £7 10 0 10ft Gin. by 12ft., from ... £10 0 D 10ft. Gin. by 13ft. Gin., from £12 10 0 13ft. Gin. by 12ft., from ... £12 16 8 12ft, by. 15ft., from ... ..'. £14 7VB | 'NJo have also very beautiful Axminster carpets, to bo made into squares to suit purchasers, and the price, of course, there-, fore, vary. ..'...' We have, gorgeous Mirz'nporo carpets.. at. 12ft. by 9ft, from £9 10 0 Uft. by 10ft, from £9 15 0 For those who cannot afford the real Ifir- , zaporo square we have an imitation made in Japan, in- tho same bright glowing colours, and , at a.very much lower price. For instance, a equaro 12ft by 12ft would cost fr0m , ..675. 6d. . .-. . . And Kidderminster for bedrooms . at prices beginning at, 9ft. by 9ft, 27s>' 6d. These : are mado in a variety of colours, cool-looking blues and greys, in reds and mingled colours. , ' . Wo have very handsome Axminster stair carpets at prices from 6s. to 12s. 6d. pec yard. , ' ■ t LINOLEUMS. .... ; . Our stock of. linoleums is as artistic and varied as our carpet stock. The virtues of tho inlaid tile pattern are well known. Theso do not show dust marks, and they wear'evenly* till the last, because each: colour, is stamped right through'■ to the back. The/arc more expensive than the painted linoleums, but , are much more . artistic, and in their durability well worth tho extra money. Other linoleums, in , which the colour is stamped right through •are tho Oriental ones, anbv the parquetry. Tho Oriental are riiado in the rich colours, and the designs' Turkey carpets; and would do admirably for sinoking-rcouis or diningi - ■■" l-.oom's. These wo can supply, at ss. 6d. and ! ' ; '6s. 6d; a square yard. . ; :;\ ... ' :" There are also linoleums in very, handsome i Art designs at 4s. 3d., ss.' 6d., and 6s. 6d. I per squaro: yard. ■ -.' ! Then wo have inlaid linoleums in a sort of softened effect, not clearly, cut! like, the, ■ : familiar' tile designs. ' And a how line is the plain matting effect in a cheaper linoleum, which wo stock ia red, cream, and greeii. Tho latest idea in linoleums. is the par- | quetry flooring. These aro in imitation I ■ of oak parquetry flooring, really an admirI able imitation.. They aro specially adapted j. for halls and dining-rooms, but in a drawingroom, with ah Oriental carpet square •in j tho centre, they would look very offectivo, and would set off the rich colours of th,e carpet. . > Yet another linoloum-liko floor covering is tho cork' carpet, which is most, suitable for bedrooms, as, it is not cold to the feet like ordinary'linoleum, and, as a matter of fact, it. is mado of Rome .preparation of cork. -Tho plain corl: carpet, in shades of green and dark blue, is very suitable for offices, especially if there trere a carpet square in tho centre. Wo have this plain at 3s. 3d., 4s. 3d., and ss. 3d. per yard, and in art designs at 4s. per yard. CURTAIwo. If you want curtains, you probably want casement .■curtains,, as those are more used now than anything olso, quaint and pretty . little curtains hanging from top to bottom of the windr. ,v pane.
