A. largo ' one-story, wooden building at North-East -Valley, occupied by. Blissard and M'Vcar, sash and door manufacturers, carrying, an extensive stock, was burned down at ten last night. Thero was no water supply. The insurances are:—Blissard and M'Vear: In the Guardian Assurancq Office, £500 (of which £75 is on the building, £175 on the gtock, and £150 machinery and £100 on the timber). .

The Union Hat ! Company had its machinery end stock insured in the Atlas Insurance Office for £350.

-■'■ NEWSPAPER OFFICE GUTTED. A '-fire' occurred in the " Wairarapa Standard," o/Ilce on Saturday afternoon at about 1.40. The office is ontircly gutted, and nearly everything is destroyed. The woodwork on the printing machino is destroyed, and the machine is almost beyond repair. All the 4ypo- is destroyed! with tho exception of ono form oftliK iiuwipaper. Tho insurances aro: UMO on the stock in the Liverpool, London, end' Globe, aud £200 on the building, which was owned by. Mr. Hinchberg, of Masterton; ill the South. British.

•■•"■ . -. Wanganul, December 15. A flro broke-put last night in a shop in tho Arenne, occupied by Clark and Son, cycle dealers..- Tho building was gutted, but the filtook of. bicycles, was saved. Tho upstairs portion of the Freezing Company's retail g&op adjoining* was also destroyed.
