President Roosevelt's reiteration that ho is not a candidate for tho Presidency is interpreted as being intended to defeat the intrigues of some wire-pullers, who are ostensibly working for Prosidcnt Roosevelt, but, in reality, for Mr. G. B. Cortelyou (Secretary to the Treasury), possibly without Mr. Cortelyou's knowledge!.
