PALMERSON FARMERS' UNION.
The J'almerston | North Farmers' Union met on Saturday. The agricultural labourers' demands in Canterbury wore discussed; but until they are settled it was decided not to take any action. The shearers' demands wore also discussed; but no action was takon. Several members supported tho proposal to hold a farmers' social in conjunction with the annual picnic, and a subcommittee was set up to report. A,resolution was passed recommending the Mutual
Fire Insuranco Board to adopt a clauso making tho cleaning of chimneys compulsory.
