The " Doily Chronicle " says that Australia is in no mood to do things by halves. Mr. Deakin's dofonco scheme, like his,now tariff and his now protection schemes, is largo and comprehensive, r, ■• Referring to the 'All Red route, the " Chronicle" states that it is desirablo that Australia should reveal her attitudo to it. Mr. Deakin expressed tho utmost sympathy at the Imperial Conference, but sympathy, being translated, means " How much will you β^e?".....' '. ' ''If, says the "Chronicle," all the colonies contributed, and a workable financial scheme were submitted, the Imperial Government Would gladly do itspart''towards realising a piece of practical Imperialism.
