A "whispering" or "lawless' court, imposed in early times on the manor holders for midnight, conspiracy, was held at Rochester recently. The Court assembled on King's Hill at midnight, and was held until daybreak. All business was done in whisp ors, and the transactions .were recorded witii a piece of coal . '
