EXPORT OF FROZEN MEAT.
A LATE SEASON. (BY TELEOUATH—PBESB ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, December 12. Owing to tho lateness of tbo spring, the export season in the Auckland frozen meat trade has been very much delayed. Up to this time last year thousands of quarters of beef had been shippod homo. In fact, throughout October tbo shipments of beef from- Auckland word exceedingly large. This was perhaps to a certain extent duo to the fact that a freight war was then on between the shipping companies, and it was a farthing per pound cheaper to consign 'frozon moat to the Homo markets. So far tins season there has not been a single shipment of beef. Jm eights are up, and prices are up. Before Christmas last year 7000 lambs had boon shipped to England. This season, there will not bo 11)0(1. Nevertheless, in the opinion of Mr. Stringer, Secretary of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, tin: season will bo a good ono, though very Into.
