SIR JOSEPH WARD.
INTERVIEWED AT CHRISTCHURCH. FINANCIAL POSITION OF THE DOMINION. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Ghrlstchurch, December 9. The Right Hon. tho Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) arrived from Wellington yestorday en routo for Invercargill, to attend the Agricultural and Pastoral show in that town. Ho left by tho first express this morning, and returns to this city on Friday, continuing his journey to Wellington tho following evening. Interviewed as to the present financial position of the Dominion, Sir Joseph said that the total re-venue for the eight months onding November 30 last bad been £4,959,546, as compared with £4,595,612 for the corresponding period of tho previous year. That gave an increase in revenue for the eight months of £363,934, a result that must be regarded as highly satisfactory. Tho' details of tho revenue for the eight months of 1907 and 1906 had been as follow:— - x '1007. 1906.
