This evening the Comnany will produce "A Message from Mars," by special arrangement with Mr. Charles Hawtrey. Special scenery has been painted for the piece, and tho mounting is said to be on an elaborate scale. To enable visitors from the Eastern side of tho harbour to attend, the Day's Bay boat will bo delayed until 10.45 p.m. ■ ■ THEATRE ROYAL. Tho strong . bill submitted by the Puller Company "at tlio Theatre Royal attracted a large audience last night, tho various turns, notably those of the Ahlbergs, Barnard and Barnard, and tho musical Cronies gaining well-won. applause. A change •of programme is announced for to-night. "A TRIP TO CHINATOWN." Mr.'Howard Vernon and his clever company are still in high favour at His Majesty's. Tho popular American comedy is brimful of rollicking fun, -and in the hands of- Mr. Vernon's . combination, loses nothing in the performance. A gay throng assembled at "Wonderland" last night, to witness the: special attractions ■which had been arranged. Thero was excitement in plenty outside of the • side-shows. The daring. Do Dio rdde his bicyclo down, the chute, and hurtled down tho incline amidst-a mass, of flames. The naval battle, purporting to represent tho Japanese, fleet storming Port Arthur, was.repeated. A special fireworks' display on the lake is announced for to-night, and a number of other special attractions for to-day are advertised. /POLLARD'S JUVENILE OPERA CO. ,/ Of "Bluebell in 'Fairyland," tho opening production'of Pollard's JuTenile Opera Company, which will be introduced to Wellington-theatre-goers next Saturday night, tho " Ghristchurch Press" says"The production has as much scenery to manipulate as a pantomime, and the success achieved,, and the ..smoothness with which tho pieco went as a whole, reflects tho greatest possible.credit on all concerned. The members of tho company are all artists, their glancing being'.a. special feature of the production, in fact, qiiito ! 'as : good as anything wo have seen of the kind, and the acting is spontaneous and free from tho slightest suspicion of stiffness; in'fact, the whole' production is a distinct artistic success." The company is at present playing a return season in Christchurch, and will arrive in Wellington on Friday morning, so as to give aniplo timo to get ready'for the opening performance. - MISS BL A NET'S CONCERT. < O'l Monday evening Miss .Rose Blaney will give a. popular' contort. The programme is a string onej containing many favourites songs. Tiio concerted music should add ■to the eur jojnient. .This ,will be Miss Blanoy's'only appeaiance, as she is returning to London. Miss Blanoy's contributions will include, "My Heart is Weary," "Kathleen Mavsurneon," and an "Ave Maria,"/ by Limio., Miss Mandoline Knight will sing "A Song of Thanksgiving" and " Miss Miha Caldow • has selected "The Enchantress" and "Links o' Love." Mrs.' T. H. Costelloe will sing "Leonore," as well as taking part in the concerted 'music.. Mr. E. J. Hill is singing two old favourites, "Dainty.Dorothea" and "It came with thb Merry May," and Mr. E. Parkes's'numbers an "Messmate" and "To-niglit." The two las.'-nained performers are singing, the. favourite duet, "Watchman, what of the Night?" Tin l prices of admission are popular, and the box plan is now open at the Dresden. "THE MESSIAH." The over-welcome Christmas oratorio "The Messiah" ,will bo performed by tho Wellington Choral Society at the Tovrn Hall, on Tuesday, December 10, under tho couductorship of Mr. Maughan Barn'ott. This : will be the first occasion of the performance of this work by -.this Society,. and, owing to' the thorough way in which its work is always done, great in* torest is being taken in , the Society's third and final performance of the 1907 season. The soloists taking part will be Mrs. R. Hudson, of Dunedin (soprano)', Miss Mina Caldow (contralto), Mr. E. J. Hill (tenor), and Mr. John -Prouse (baritone), all of whom are always acceptablc'to the music-loving public of Wellington. The box plan will 'open at tho Dresden ■on Wednesday next at 10 a.m. A SCOTS' NICHT. The Wellington Caledonian Society is to honour its patron saint (St. Andrew) this evening by having a "braw Scots' nicht" in tho new Cal< donian Chambers (top floor) at tho corner of Dixon and Quin Streets. Among those who will be present are the Pipers Campbell, Scott, M'Permott, and Vaughan. Major Mackintosh will play a. clarinet , selection of Scottish airs, an i will reiato the details of a famous march in which he took part in the Waikato during the Maori war. Mr. W. Brown will recite "Cuddle Doon," and Mr. ,T. M'Leodfand Prof. Boyd will demonstrate the 'dexterity of Cale-. donian feet in a number of Highland dances. ORGAN RECITAL. A largo congregation assembled at St. Paul's, Thorndon, last evening, when Mr. Robert Parker, L.T.C.L., givo an enjoyable recital of organ music. During the evening songs were contributed by Mrs. I l '. P. Wilson and Mr. C. Clarkson. The concluding part of the programme consisted of tho singing of Spohr's cantata, " God, Thou are Great," by the choir. The principals were Miss Upham (soprano), Miss Lloyd-Hassel (contralto), and Mr. James Searlo (tenor). MISSIONS TO SEAMEN. A large audience gathered at the Missions to Seamon last night, when the weekly ambulance mooting was hold. Tho missioner (Mr. .las. Mooro) gave some useful hints in connection with first-aid, and health matters. During the evening a bright musical programme was givon by Miss Luke, who was assisted by the following;— Misses B. Luke, Fulton, Lindberg, Evans, Henderson, and Mr. Thompson.

The ninth annual meeting of Miss Mueller's pupils will be held in the Wesley Hall, Taranaki Street, on Tuesday, December 17 • The Victoria College annual picnic, organised this year by the Students' Association, will bo held to-day at Silvcrstream. T1 irty-two mombors of tho Victoria College Glee Club gave,a concert at tho Porirua Mental Hwpital on Wednesday night, which was much appreciated by the patients. An enjoyable social and dance, organised by the Wellington • Tipers' and Dancers' Club, were hold in tho Now Century Hall last evening. Mr. W. Boyd .was M.C. There was a large, .attendance.
