' - This makes the constitution of the Board the same as last year.. •Tlio above list shows very clearly in what manner tho Board is constituted in, regard to representation, yet some of the up-country officials apparently know littlo about the manner in which their districts are ropre-. sented,.if the secretary's' correspondence file is tp be, believed. . From the clerk .of the. Castlcpoiiit. County Council, tho following epistlo was re'ceived.i-r 1,//,' './.■/ ; ' '"November 27, 1907. s " Sir,—l beg to inform you that I attended at tlio office, of this Council to-day as presiding officer to receive votes for a member to. represent tho Akitio.aiul Castlepoint County Councils on your Board, but no delegate pub in an appearance, therefore no votes were recorded at this office.—l alii, etc." As -a matter -of fact, .Mr. R. ,Smith; M.H.R,,- has beenre-appointed ' representative of;the counties-named with others, and' there was no- necessity -to. .take ta vote of everybody in thovmanner tho.clerk proposed. : The following was received from the Greytown Borough Council 5— ;■•. , ' • " Dear Sir, —Ro representative of Wellington and Wairarapa Charitable Aid Board, I have tho'honour to; notify you that J. This ■is not so'(nor could it'bo without creating a numerically uiiweildy body) j : ;f6r "Mr. A. W.'Hogg, M.H.R., ivlio represents"' Carterton,' also represents tho Masterton, Greytown Borough Councils, and tho Masterton County Council. The above are ojily a.couplo of many fnstahces of the confusion tliat arises even amongst tho local body officials themselves over tho multiplicity of bodies that have to do with the administration of cliaritablp.aid.and hospital affairs.
