ARBITRATION COURT.

MR. M'CULLOUGH APPOINTED. Mr. J. A, M'Cullough, late of the Addington railway workshops, having received a majority of votes from unions, has been appointed by Cabinet as the workers' ropresontativo on the Arbitration Court. The appointment is to date from January 1 next, in ordpr to enable Mr. R. olater, who at present represents the labour unions, to.assist in completing the cases upon which ho is already ongaged. •••■-.■-.' Mr. W. T. i'oung, of Wellington, secretary of the Federated Seamen's Union of Australasia, secured a majority of the nominations of unions as deputy representative ot tho workers, and. Cabinet' has appointed him to that position. Sir. S. Brown, of Wellington, has been roappointed as the employers' representative, no other nominations being made. Mr. W. Pryor, Parliamentary-secretary- of-' tho New Zealand Employers' Federation, has been appointed. deputy employers' representative. The salary of tho employors' representative and of tho workors' representative is £500 each "per annum, with £1 per diem travelling exponsos. ■ ■ • ■ ■-.-■. Satisfaction was expressed at last night's meeting of .the Wellington Trades and Labour Council at the election of Mr. J. A M'Cullough' '(Christohurch) as workers' iepresontative,:- and Mr. W. T. Young•-(Wel-lington) ; as deputy workers' representative on the Arbitration Court, and a resolution .was passed conveying to the two members tho congratulations of the Council.
