'• ' Total ... 805 ' It will be soen from the above-figures that: tho legal profession is in high favour, the percentage of aspirants for tho wig and gown being 39. That is to say, out of every three students, one is.au embryo lawyer.- -, 1 , The new degree in Commerce, instituted/; last year, has attracted twelve candidates. In tho meantime, there is a .period of sus- . penso to be endured by 805 hopeful candidates. Some will pass with 'flying colours, ... others will merely " pass," wiiilo a fortunate few_will get through by the skin of their teeth. For the rest, there will come tho day of hitter reflection. Having done • those things they ought not to have done, and left undone the things they ought to have done, their punishment will be the loss of their feathers—they will bo " plucked."
