'hi order to prove the harnilessncss of the "poison" that Mrs. Mamie Leiby and Oliver Ilinnorshitii and wife wero alleged to have given to the husband of Mrs. Leiby, Captain James L. Schaadt, counsel for the defence, took a largo dose of the concoction at the beginning of the trial at Allentown, U.S.A., and lived to tell the tale.
