Ho was fifty-one years old, and a widower. He lived alone. ' One of his arms was amputated some years ago as tho result of an accident; tho other was cut off close to tho elbow a few months ago owing to medical reasons. Ho made a precarious living by tho sale of objects in tho street.
Ho had a son who for some timo past has been in prison at Chalons-sur-Marnc.
