BOXING CONTESTS.
The bookings in connection ■ with • tho featherweight professional' championship of the Dominion on Monday, evening'constitute a-record. Prior to the contest, Constables A. Skinner and C. E. Stephens will give an exposition of wrestling (catch-as-catch can style), and T. M'Gibbon (formerly' of. Australia) and Tim Tracy (the well-known local boxer) will, show their undoubted ability ma six-round spar. T. Hanlcy, of Sydney, and J. Godfrey, of Auckland—the contestants in the championship event—will enter the ring punctually at nine o'clock. Of tho merits of the men it will bo sufficient to say that Hanlcy is equal to'the best in his'weight Australia has produced, and that Godfrey was amateur ! feather-weight champion of England in 1903, and of New Zealand three years later. As both are in the pink jf condition, the contest snould be a momorablo ono. in the annals of boxing in the Dominion. Among interested spectators will bo his Excellency tho Governor, the Premier, and soveral members of tho Ministry. It is understood that efforts are being mado by supporters of W. Elliott (amateur feather-weight champion of Australasia) to have Hanlcy matched with him at a later dato.
