WELLINGTON SWIMMING CLUB.
The thirteenth; annual moating of the Wellington Amateur Swimming Club was held in flodber's Rooms last evening. The chair was occupied by Dr..Chappie, president. In moving the adoption of, the report, the chairman said that as far back as 1803 the club had advocated the erection.of a central bath on. the reclaimed land,, and had made tho way clear for tho City, Council, but the Council lot the opportunity go. The speaker-urged that all the money that could ,be spared should be spent on a large and central bath, which could be nsed all the year round, both night and day. He .suggested that another effort should bo made, to get a central bath, with a gymnasium, retiring rooms, tea rooms, etc. ' The adoption of the report and balancesheet (a precis of which has already been published),was agreed to. The election of officers for the'ensuing season resulted as follows-.—President, Dr. Chappie; vicerpresident.s, Sir Robert Stout and Hon. J. Ttigg, M;L:C, Messrs. 'T. Roynane, R. C. Renner, J. P.
