With regard to the. tragedy at.tho Hotel Metropolo, whore a Cowra solicitor, uame.j Lostor King, murdered his wife arid then committed suicide, after leaving a letter referring to his wife in endearing tofnis, the inquest on the bodies of the victims did little to elucidate tho mystery. The modical evidence was that thore were no traces of pnissic acid, but that in the case of a volatile poison the odour might havti gono. A sistor of Mrs. King gavo evidence that, tho latter failing to keop ah appointment witness visited the Hotel Motropolo, and was informed that tho Kings were asleep. After waiting for a timo, witness entered tho room and discovered the dead bodies. Mrs. King was cheerful when she arranged tho appointment.

A brother of tho deceased lady said that Mrs. King intended to come to Sydney with somo friends yesterday, but her husband alleged that he had urgent business and induced her to accompany him to tho city. Mrs. King was in good health, and there was no truth in the statement that she intended tb enter a private hospital, gho had a soparnte estate, but had encumbered ib on behalf of her husband.

Witness had received information sinco tl tragedy that King was in financial difficu ties to tho extoiit of about £1000.
