ARBITRATION COURT.
NAPIER CASES. Napior, November 20. Tho Arbitration Court commenced its sittings to-da.v. In three cases, employers, for breaches of the drivors' award, were lined £2, back pay to be refunded, in ouo instance, in which an employee was fined £1. In several other cases of unintentional breaches of tho Drivers' and Carpenters' awards, the fees of the Court only wore ordered to lie paid. In the breaches of the Bakers' award a line of £2 was imposed. In one breach of the Carpentering award (not indenturing an apprentice) tho fino was £5. In the compensation case, Henry v. Napier Harbour Hoard, a widow's claim in connection'with tho loss of life of her husband'in an accident when working on the dredgo, an order wa3 made that compensation to the amount of. £360, with costs, £5 5s, j bo paid by tho respondents, £120 to bo paid to the claimant, and tho. balnncc, £240, to be paid to the Public Trustee, to he-invested bv him. and the capital and interest to bo applied at bis discretion for tho benefit of the widow and child. Several othor cases were dismissed.
