"HOME, SWEET HOME." The now dramatic company recently formed by Mr. Allan Hamilton, the well-known Australian entrepreneur, will make its Wellington debut-on Tuesday evening next, at'the Opera House, presenting .for the first time in Wellington, an "English domestic drama, entitled,' "Home, Sweet Home," which reached its UOO performance in England ' recently. Playgoere keen for .an absorbing sensation, wiU find it in this stirring tale of the sea, describing the saving of the daughter-of an English aristocrat from a shipwreck ion the English coast; her bringing up by one of the simple fisherfolk; her .marriage to the soli-of her rescuer; the'accidental discovery of'her real position in life; her flight to her ancestral home, and ultimate return to the humble fishing village. The play has been very successful in England and America. In addition to "Home, Sweet Home," that well-known comedy-drama, "A Message from Mars" and "Little Lord Fauntleroy," will bo produced during the short season of ten nights. Mr. Hamilton has engaged a large company of including several prominent English and American actors, and has been to great expense in giving the play aproper setting. Some exceedingly pretty' stage pictures from the brush of Mr. Alfred Clint, Mr.'Harry Whaite, and other scenic artists are promised. The box plan opens on Thursday morning at Holliday's. THEATRE EOT AX. Saturday night's attractive programme at the Theatre Boyal, with a new, exciting "turn by Barnard and Barnard, sensational shooters, provided mirth and " thrill" to a large audience at the Theatre Royal last night. All the items had a good reception, and the programme will be given again tonight. WONDERLAND. : Despite the unpleasant weather there was a good attendance at Wonderland yesterday, and thp water-chute, toboggan, and. other attractions were kept busv both afternoon and evening. The illuminations in the evening were a complete success, and initial difficulties are now fairly surmounted. Wonderland will be open again to-day from 2 till 5.15, and 7 till 10. GIRLS' REALM GUILD. -The branch of the Girls' Realm Guild recently established in Wellington promises. to be a real active body, and its object, which ; is to assist young girls of talent, should commend itself to all right-thinking people. This week the guild will give two dramatic performances in the Sydney Street Schoolroom, the first at 3.30 p.m. on Thursday, and the second at 8 p.m. on Friday, when two comediettas. entitled " Freezing," and " Mother-in-law," will be given. Both performances are under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor and Lady Plunket, who will attend in person. Tickets may be .obtained at the Dresden Warehouse, or from Miss Nathan, 77 Hobson Street. ' .
SAILORS'REST. , An audience, which packed the Sailors' Rest Hall to the doors, assembled last night to enjoy a concert tendered by the Working Men's Club Orchestral Band, under the directorship of Mr, M'Cormish, assisted by the following ladies and . gentlemen Miss Hawthorn (piano), Messrs. Hamilton, Hobman, Hendry, Do la Hay, Somerville. Watkins, Fen ton.. Kerr, Lightfoot, and Pike. The concert for next Monday night is being arranged by Miss Ankctell.
