A great many .guests woro present at tho wedding of Miss Olive Kirkcaldio, daughter of Mr. John Kirkcaldio, to Mr. C. Finch, of the Bank of New South Wales, Christchurch, which took place on Saturday afternoon at tho residence of tho bride's parents, "Kinnoul," Thomson Street. Tho Rev. 3. Paterson officiated.. Miss Grace Kirkcaldio and Miss Ida Finch wore tho bridesmaids, Mr. Cecil M'Kellar was best man, and Mr. Keith Kirkcaldio, groomsman. The brido wore an exquisite frock of white embroidered chiffon, over' silk, with shoulder capes and front; of beautiful silk lace, and she: carried a bouquet of white stephanotis,' roses and carnations. Tho bridesmaids, who wore frocks of white muslin over silk,-' and trimmed with lac? and touches of pink on the bodices, carried bouquets of pink carnations and sweet-peas.The rooms were decorated with white roses, irises, and carnations, and over the head of the bride was suspended a bell of white flowers. These and the bouquets were supplied by Miss Murray, of Willis Street. Among tho guests' present at the wedding were Mr.| Mrs., and the Misses Finch, Mrs. P. T. Putnam, Dr. and Mrs. Gibb, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Gilmer, Dr. and Mrs. Gilmer, Dr. and Mrs. Herbert! Mr. and Mrs. Tolhurst,. Mr. . and Mrs. J. M. Richardson, Dr. and Mrs. M'Gavift, Mr; and Mrs. Hannay, and Mr. M'Lcod.

On Saturday afternoon several, ladies ,met at afternoon tear at the Kelburno -Kiosk to say good-byo to Nurse M'Kinnon.Mvlio has been in Wellington for a fortnight, and. to make some acknowledgment of tho help she had come to Wellington to give to the Society for the Protection of Women and Children, in the way of making known the method of preparing humanised milk, and giving advice to mothers at the Society's office. The ladies present wore Lady Stout; Mesdames Wailis,. Rhodes; Fell, Mackenzie, Evans, Hilgato, Bracher, and Ross. Lady Stout presented Nurse M'Kinnon with a handsome handbag as a token of tho Society's-appre-ciation of her services. Nurse M'Kinnon is going. for a fortnight to Christchurch to givo instruction to a factory there in the preparation of the humanised milk, as has already been done-with an Ota'go factory.'

On Friday night Mrs. T. C. Williams gave a f dance in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Algar Williams, who arrived in Wellington last week. There were .quantities of arum lilies and -other flowers in the drawing-room, and tho supper t'ablo was prettily decorated with roses and sweet-peas. Mrs; Williams received her guests in a gown of dark purple silk, with very beautiful lace on the bodice; Miss Williams wore a frock of roso pink chiffon taffetas; Miss Una' Williams was in white satin; Miss Eila Williams in blue satin; Mrs. Algar.Williams was in a charming frock of pale-green chiffon over white silk, with silvor trimmings; the Misses.Russell. (2). wore both in white. satin;. the Hon. Kathleen Plunkct, frock of pale pink; Miss Ward, pale pink; Miss-Kettlo, black frock with sequins; Miss Boyle, pale pink;. Mrs. Riddiford, pale Mrs. Thorrie George, black frock and white 'gowns'-Miss Barker, pale;blue; Mrs. Buchanan, .white satin; Miss Gore, pale yellow; .Mrs. Dyrhock, floral silk; Miss Duncan, pale blue"' frock trimmed with .• silver. Among the other guest's were Misses M'Tavish, Hewitt, .Harcdiirt' (2), Bell, and Tolhurst.

, There was a pleasant little gathering in Mrs. Duncan's pretty dining-room on Friday morning, when Mrs. Duncans entertained Mrs. Wallis and the other mcmbors'of St. Mary's Guild at! morning tea at her house in Hobson Street.' The ladies present, in addition to Mrs. Arthur Duncan and Mrs. Wallis, were Lady Atkinson, and Mesdames Campbell, Coleridge, Didsbu'ry, Hansell,Hudson j Medley,'M.'Richmond,'Sprott, Tanner, and Warren: "This, was'the'..occasion for tho guild's bidding a formal farewell to - Mrs. Wallis, the president of the guild, and a letter was read by Mrs. Tannor, vice-presi-dent, expressing appreciation of tho work done by Mrs. Wallis, and the time and thought she had given to St. Mary's Guild and to rescue work, wishing her a happy journey and speedy return, and saying that the guild -would have great■ pleasuro in welcoming her back again. The ladies of the guild then presented Mrs. Wallis with a travelling rug.

A small dance was given at Government House on Saturday night by the Aides-de-camp. • Among the guests wero Mesdames Abbott, C. Crawford, Dymock, and Duncan, Misses Ward, Simpson (2), Pcarce", and Tweed, and Messrs. Rawson, Dyrhock, La-ing-Mea'sou, Bridge, Abbott, Duncan, and Crawford. Mrs. A. Foster, from Blenheim, is staying at the Hotel Cecil. 'Mrs. W. Shaiid has gone to Christchurch to stay with Mrs. Cooper for a fortnight. Miss Hawdon, who has been visiting friends in Hawko's Bay, is spending a few days with Mrs. Medley on her' return to Canterbury. Mrs. Reginald Stbwo is staying in town.
