AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
A meeting of tho Wellington Committee of the Now Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last night Thero were present: Dr. A. K. Newman (president, in the chair), and Messrs I? W M'Villy. J. H. Pollock, und \V.. ]?. Larkin (vice-presidents), and thirteen delegates. Tho principal business was the election of delegates to tho Council of the N.Z.A.A.A., as » result of n tie on the previous voting boween Messrs T. It. Alexander. H. S. Batchelor, D. Hamlin mid W., G. Atack. Tho ballot resulted in election of the first three candidates mentioned above. Owing to tho failure of tho various clubs to obtain grounds for their spring meetings, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Hoonan, to take tire matter in hand tint] hold n meeting on the Basin Reserve in December. Messrs. A. J. Pollock, W. Coffcy, and A. Davies wore appointed to wait on the Cricket Association to make arrangements as to dates, etc. Messrs. W. N. Pollock, C. E. Bridge, and B. Guise (hon. secretary) wore nppointed a subcommittee to draw up a draft programmo of evonts for the gathoring. An application from W. O'Brien for reinstatement as an amateur was approved, and ordered to be sent to tho New Zealand Council for confirmation.
