FIVE NEW STEAMERS. A SPEED OF SEVENTEEN KNOTS. BT TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPTBIGIIT. (Received Nov. 16, 1.23 a.m.) Melbourne, November 15. Tho mail contract ha 3 been signed by the Orient Company for ton yoars. The subsidy is £170,000 per annum. Under the contract five now steamers of not less that 11,000 tons are to be built, having a speed of 17 knots.
