MEETING OF CREDITORS.
A meeting of creditors in the estate of Edward Charles Eastabrbok, grocer, Newtown, was held yesterday morning. Debtor's statement showed claims against the estate totalling £585 4s. Id., and assets estimated to produce £180 14s. A claim of £350 put in by Mrs. Eastabrook was not allowed, the Official Assignee holding that the money in question had been put into the business. Tho principal creditors were Aitken and Wilson, £67 17s. 9d.; W. and G. Tumbull, £29 155.; Smallbono and Grace, £24 12s. Bd.; Empire Loan Company, £25. Bankrupt's statement showed that he started in business three years ago. His capital at this time was £500 worth of shares (held by his wife) in tho Mornington Estate. Ho raised a loan upon thoso shares, which were originally worth £1 each, but which had fetched only Bs. apiece upon being sold at. auction subsequently. Ho paid in cash for "his goods when he started business, and had got into difficulties through' an accumulation of bad debts. It was resolved that tho Official Assigneo should dispose of the stock by tender.
