Tho Now York correspondent of " Tlio Times" states that while there is a momentary calm in Now York, and currency troubles are relieved by tho influx of gold, the industrial contres aro not similarly eased. In many places, outsido tho largest cities, clearing houso clieqtios aro, says tho correspondent, freely usod • as paper-money. •Manufacturers, unable to get their bills ronowod, aro practising rigid economies. Thoy have dismissed employees, and are cancelling ordors for work. Leading Now York bankers profess to be satisfied with the financial outlook, but say that tho restoration of equilibrium in industrial centres will be slow. THE STEEL TRUST'S OPPORTUNITY. New York, Novomber 10. The Stool Corporation has secured twentysix million dollars' worth of stock in the Tennessee Coal, Iron, and Railway Company, and assumed tho management.
