VALET'S REVENGE.
A wealthy Englishman, Mr. Vivian Worfch, was brutally attacked and vory nearly murdered by his valet in tho small hours of tho morning of Soptembor 3, at Browles, a little village in Franco closo to Bois le Itoi, which, was tho scone "of Cesbron's attack on Dr. Herbert. " - ■ Mr. Worth,' who has a protty house at Browles, in tho Forest of Fontainchleau, was found lying in tho road about fivo o'clock in tho morning. Ho was unconscious, his clothes woro drenched in blood, and his face' was' fearfully battered and swollen. He ,was taken into a chemist's shop, and after come time recovered consciousness. Tlio chief ■of tho' Jocal polico, who ,liad boon sent for, questioned Mr. Worth, and learned that on tho previous Monday 1 ho had been, obliged to speak with some severity to his valet, a young man of twenty named, Varly, On Monday evening Mr. .Worth, accompanied b' Varly, was on his way home when tho valet, who was walking in 'front of him, suddenly turned and struck at his master with u heavy stick which ho was carrying.
