AVlicn lligbee was taken ill, tho chief operator hastened to his sido. lligbet! tried throe times to speak, and them, raisin" his forefinger, lie slowly conveyed tho ■following message in a series of pats on tho back of tho chief operator as the latter bent over him:—"l have had a stroke of apoplexy, llavo had two already. l''ear.l am going to die. You had better send mo to a hospital." Higboo died later at tho Hnlinomann Hospital. It is thought that tho strain resulting from tho recent-strike may have contributed to bringing on tho attack. Ho had been working eighteen hours a clay.
