HARBOUR BOARD.
The ordinary mooting of tlio Wellington Harbour' Board was held yesterday afternoon. There were present:—Hon. T.'K. Macdonald (chairman), Hon. T. W. Hislop, Messrs. Beauchamp, Sliirtoliffo, Fletcher, and WilforU, m.h.r, ■ ,; • The Chairman reported' that the Marino Department' had approved the proposal to place a lighted buoy at Point Jcrningham, and that the patent apparatus had been ordered. The buoy would. be made locally. The Mariiui Department approved and the Defence Department, consented to the construction of.a beacon at Point Halswell in place of .the buoy. The Marino Department had issuod a notice to manners, as requested, relative to the navigation of the.channels at the Falcon Shoal. The report was received.;
The Wharves and Accounts .Committee recommended the Board to affix the seal to foreshore licenses for yacht slips at Baleiia Bay to Messrs. A. G. Kcott and Berkeley Clarke; to have the watermen's shelter shed shifted from Waterloo Quay to the Board's section at Rona Bay, and there fitted as a tomporary waiting-room -ror passengers by the ferry steamers; to join with the Eastbourne Borough Council in haying a survey made of high water mark and its'relation to the adjacent sections at Eastbourne. The report was adopted. The following payments were authorised: — For accounts and wages, £11.396'85.; progress payments on contracts, £4838' 16s. 7(1.; salaries ' for October, £752 lls. -Id.; total, £16,992 los. lid.
